In 2012, I traveled to Mexico with UNC’s Center for International Understanding and wrote this report on the center’s Latino Initiative.

Tolerance wears thin was my profile of the Johnston County sheriff, and his incendiary attitude toward immigrants, for the Raleigh News & Observer. This piece won a first place award in profile writing from the North Carolina Press Association.
